Texas Tech football continues to build on its historic momentum, and this time the spotlight is on the infrastructure behind the scenes.
Head coach Joey McGuire announced a series of title promotions within the Red Raiders’ off-the-field staff, reinforcing a personnel operation that has become one of the most respected in college football.
Longtime staff members Brian Nance and Quintin Jordan have both been promoted to assistant general manager roles under general manager James Blanchard.
Nance will now oversee high school recruiting operations, while Jordan expands his responsibilities to include revenue-share management in addition to his extensive role in football operations.
Sean Kenney steps into the Director of Player Personnel position, continuing a leadership trio that has been together since McGuire’s earliest days in Lubbock.
The promotions reflect results as much as loyalty.
Texas Tech’s personnel department has been instrumental in assembling rosters that changed the trajectory of the program. Under this structure, the Red Raiders signed one of the nation’s top high school recruiting classes, ranking as high as No. 13 nationally, while also landing the No. 2 transfer portal class in the country.
That portal haul included quarterback Brendan Sorsby and multiple experienced additions along the defensive front that helped shape one of the Big 12’s most physical units.
Jordan’s role extends far beyond titles.
He remains a central figure in team logistics, eligibility coordination, admissions processes, and NCAA certification, while also organizing offseason retreats and year-round program events.
Nance and Kenney, both among McGuire’s first personnel hires, continue to drive talent evaluation and acquisition across both recruiting pipelines.
That comprehensive approach paid off massively.
Texas Tech captured its first Big 12 Championship last fall, earned a College Football Playoff berth, and finished the season ranked No. 7 nationally - the highest final ranking in program history.
As the Red Raiders push forward, these promotions signal continuity, trust, and a commitment to the system that helped turn Texas Tech into a national contender.
