Legendary Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes is partnering with high schools across the nation to exclusively wear his "Gladiator" gear this season.

LUBBOCK - Patrick Mahomes is the current quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, becoming the face of the franchise and arguably the entire NFL in its latest era.

However, the stellar gunslinger made his way to the biggest stage after a few stops in Texas.

Mahomes obviously starred under center for Texas Tech and led the Red Raiders throughout a somewhat underwhelming period in Lubbock.

But that stint was not the first taste of football in the Lone Star State for the iconic passer.

Much like several NFL standouts, Mahomes saw his career get an early start underneath the lights on Texas Friday nights.

More precisely, he suited up for Whitehouse, which is nearby Tyler in East Texas.

Getting back to his roots, Mahomes has announced that six programs across the state will wear gear from Adidas adorned with his "Gladiator" logo in an effort to extend his uniform ventures into high school football.

Texas Tech already saw a collaboration with the beloved quarterback over the past two seasons and his other alma mater Whitehouse got to debut the partnership on the high school stage last year alongside two other Texas schools, Longview and Southlake Carroll.

The Wildcats and their counterparts from last season are three of the teams inside Texas donning the exclusive uniforms, with South Oak Cliff, Vandegrift and Carthage, a fellow East Texas school, joining the mix.

While Mahomes' ties to Texas are undeniable, he is extending his offerings to programs across the nation.

As part of the expanded group, 28 schools nationwide will suit up in Mahomes-branded gear this season.

For Mahomes, it makes a serious leap toward extending his reach into the uniform market through his partnership with Adidas.

For those young athletes, it marks a significant honor to represent one of the sport's most iconic figures during a time when they are trying to make a name of their own in football.

Mahomes has come a long way from slinging passes and picking up yards with his legs in Whitehouse, but the steps he took with the Wildcats laid the foundation for him to become the caliber of player he is today.

Many people most likely did not think they were seeing a future three-time, as of now, Super Bowl champion and future NFL MVP when watching Mahomes work his magic in Whitehouse.

And now this latest generation of high school football stars across the nation will have the opportunity to cement their impact on the sport while wearing the logo of a player that proved that success can come from anywhere.
