Texas Tech quarterback commit Kavian Bryant backed up the hype at Elite 11, showing why the 2027 Texas star is one of the nation’s most dangerous dual-threat QBs.

Texas Tech football may already have its future quarterback, and Kavian Bryant is making sure nobody forgets it.

The Texas Tech QB commit arrived at the Elite 11 with plenty of buzz, but left looking even more like one of the crown jewels of the 2027 recruiting class.

Against top quarterback talent from around the country, Bryant didn’t look rattled, rushed, or overwhelmed. He looked like a player completely comfortable being the guy.

That’s what makes this moment feel bigger than just another offseason camp appearance.

Bryant used the Elite 11 stage to remind everyone why he’s one of the most exciting young quarterbacks in Texas. The event is built to test arm talent, athletic ability, mechanics, and command, and Bryant checked every box.

He looked sharp, controlled, and confident in a setting designed to expose flaws. Instead, he kept creating more reasons for people to believe his ceiling is still climbing.

And the production backing him up is ridiculous.

Across three varsity seasons, Bryant has completed 498 of 694 passes for 8,407 yards and 104 touchdowns, with only 11 interceptions.

That alone would make him a major name.

Then add what he’s done as a runner: 253 carries, 2,408 rushing yards, and 30 rushing touchdowns. That kind of dual-threat output is what separates a good prospect from a potentially game-changing one.

His year-by-year numbers only make the case stronger.

Bryant threw for 3,407 yards and 37 touchdowns in 2025, followed by 2,718 yards and 34 scores in 2024, after posting 2,282 yards and 33 touchdowns as a freshman.

At 6-2.5 and 180 pounds, Bryant still has room to add strength, which is a scary thought for defenses already struggling to handle his arm and mobility.

For Texas Tech, this isn’t just about landing a talented quarterback. It’s about landing a potential tone-setter. Bryant has the numbers, the tools, and now the big-stage momentum.

And if Elite 11 was any indication, the future in Lubbock just got a lot more interesting.
