The star defensive end is seeing his draft stock skyrocket to the extent that some think teams could trade up to select him.

Texas Tech defensive star David Bailey is being mentioned frequently as one of the projected top picks in the upcoming NFL Draft.

With teams needing an out-and-out pass rusher, there is a thought that Bailey isn't going to last long on draft night.

But where could he go?

We have seen several mock drafts that have Bailey going inside the top five, and not many have him going after that. So the market is set on which teams could go for him.

The Las Vegas Raiders won't, and the New York Jets could, but then comes the Arizona Cardinals.

What the NFC West team could do at No. 3 is interesting.

And NFL Draft guru Todd McShay, on his show, lifted the lid on what could potentially happen with Arizona's pick.

McShay stated he has heard things from "two people that have typically good information" when it comes to the Arizona Cardinals and what they could do at No. 3

McShay began stating that in these talks, assuming Fernando Mendoza goes No. 1 and Arvell Reese goes at No. 2, this is what could happen.

And it impacts Bailey.

"One source is saying I know [Adam] Schefter said the clock starts on Jeremiyah Love at No. 5, there's someone in that building that's pushing really, really hard for Jeremiyah Love that has a say," McShay said The McShay Show

"Then I get another person, trading out of No. 3 remains one of the priorities, or one of the things that could absolutely happen with Arizona. There's a lot of buzz about Dallas, and what comes to the noise, with Dallas trading up from 12 to three to get Bailey, right?

"Keep it in state. Texas Tech, pass rusher. Most importantly, they've put all their efforts into rebuilding that defense over the last year."

So what the Cardinals do at No. 3 has the potential to impact Bailey in a big way.

Not many have him lasting long on draft night, and if the Cowboys were to trade up to No. 3 to get him, the draft capital needed would be eye-watering.

Plus, McShay mentioned it as a possibility; he was throwing it out there as an idea. He's not reporting it will.

Both firsts and Dallas' third-round pick are a start, and more might be needed.

Bailey is seen as one of the best defensive players in the draft, and the domino effect of what one team does could greatly impact where the Red Raider lands.

And it appears, Dallas, if things go right, could be an option.
