Texas Tech's showdown with No. 22 Arizona is officially sold out, extending a remarkable home attendance streak as the Red Raiders chase a critical Big 12 victory.

Texas Tech football fans aren't backing down after the Red Raiders' first loss of the season. In fact, they're preparing to pack Galaxy Stadium for one of the biggest Big 12 matchups of the weekend.

No. 13 Texas Tech announced Friday that Saturday's showdown against No. 22 Arizona has officially sold out of its primary ticket inventory, extending the program's remarkable streak to 12 consecutive home sellouts dating to the beginning of the 2025 season.

It's also the fifth advance sellout of 2026, another indication that excitement surrounding Joey McGuire's program remains strong despite last weekend's disappointing loss at Cincinnati.

And the timing couldn't be more important.

Texas Tech enters the Halloween matchup at 6-1 overall and 3-1 in Big 12 play, matching Arizona's conference record.

Both teams have plenty at stake in a league race where another defeat could complicate the road to the conference championship game.

The Red Raiders opened the season with six consecutive victories before Cincinnati handed them a 37-24 loss, ending a nine-game conference winning streak that stretched back to last season.

Now they're returning to a stadium where the home crowd has become a significant part of the program's identity.

Galaxy Stadium seats 60,229, and Texas Tech supporters have consistently filled the venue as the Red Raiders have emerged as a major Big 12 contender.

Earlier this year, the athletics department reported selling more than 33,400 season tickets, with a 95 percent renewal rate.

It marked the fourth consecutive season Texas Tech exhausted its season-ticket allotment.

On the field, quarterback Will Hammond will be under considerable pressure to deliver a stronger performance after the Cincinnati setback.

Hammond has thrown for 1,561 yards this season, while running back J'Koby Williams leads the Red Raiders with 619 rushing yards.

Wide receiver Kenny Johnson has contributed 499 receiving yards.

Arizona, meanwhile, arrives with a five-game winning streak and an opportunity to strengthen its own conference championship credentials.

For McGuire, the equation is straightforward: protect the home field and avoid consecutive Big 12 losses.

Texas Tech's previous meeting with Arizona produced a 28-22 Red Raiders victory in Tucson during the 2024 season.

Saturday's nationally televised rematch should provide another significant test for both programs.

Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. Central on ESPN, with Dave Pasch, Dusty Dvoracek and Taylor McGregor handling the broadcast.

Although Texas Tech's primary ticket inventory is exhausted, fans can check SeatGeek, the university's official secondary ticket marketplace, for available resale seats.

The Red Raiders have already secured another sellout. Now they need to make sure the packed house has something worth celebrating.

With Big 12 championship positioning on the line, Saturday presents an opportunity for Texas Tech to prove its Cincinnati performance was a setback rather than the beginning of a troubling trend.
