Texas Tech Baseball is kicking off its 76th season with a made-for-Red-Raider-Nation spectacle.
Head coach Tim Tadlock and the program have announced a 2026 Alumni Game for Saturday, Jan. 31, featuring a matchup between Tech's current 2026 roster and a squad of active professional Red Raider alumni.

Complete rosters, first pitch time, game length and streaming details will be revealed in the coming weeks, but the concept alone is already a crowd-pleaser.
"We're excited to bring Red Raider Nation a game between our active professional baseball alumni and our current 2026 roster," Tadlock said. "It’s a great opportunity for fans to see their favorite former players and our current team in action."
And there's plenty of star power to draw from.
Texas Tech is riding the momentum of a massive 2025 pro season that saw eight different Red Raiders appear in MLB games, part of a 26-man active pro alumni base.
That group is headlined by Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung, rising Red Sox right-hander Hunter Dobbins, and Chicago White Sox starter Davis Martin.
Dobbins became one of Boston's breakout stories before a torn ACL in July cut his rookie campaign short. He went 4-1 in 13 appearances (11 starts) with a 4.15 ERA, 45 strikeouts and at least five innings in eight starts, including a six-inning, two-hit shutout of the Yankees on FOX after debuting on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball.

Jung, a cornerstone at the hot corner and member of the 2023 World Series champion Rangers, posted a .251 average with 14 homers, 61 RBIs and 23 doubles across 131 games in 2025.
Martin quietly turned in a workhorse year for the White Sox, logging a career-best 142.2 innings, striking out 104 and holding opponents to a .251 average.
Tickets for the 2026 Alumni Game are on sale now, starting at just $18 via the Texas Tech Ticket Office website.
For fans, it's a rare chance to watch pros in Red Raider gear again while also getting an early look at Tadlock's next contender.
The Alumni Game is just the appetizer.
Texas Tech officially opens the 2026 season on Feb. 13 at the Shriner's Children's College Showdown at Globe Life Field, squaring off with former Big 12 foe Oklahoma, along with Vanderbilt and Arkansas.
Between a loaded alumni showcase and a heavyweight opening weekend, Texas Tech Baseball isn't easing into 2026 ... it's kicking the doors down.
