Texas Tech softball stayed red-hot with a 9-1 win over ACU as Kaitlyn Terry stayed unbeaten, Hailey Toney homered, and Jackie Lis drove in three runs.

Texas Tech softball kept piling up wins Tuesday night, and the Red Raiders did it with the kind of complete performance that has become routine during this remarkable season.

No. 2 Texas Tech rolled past Abilene Christian 9-1 on the road, improving to 35-2 overall and continuing to build momentum before a key Big 12 series against BYU.

For Texas Tech softball, the formula was familiar: strong pitching, pressure on the bases, and a lineup that can break a game open in a hurry.

The Red Raiders wasted no time getting started. Mihyia Davis and Kaitlyn Terry sparked the opening frame, and Jackie Lis quickly made ACU pay with an RBI double that helped put Tech in control early.

From there, the Red Raiders kept applying pressure until the game swung fully in their favor with a massive third inning.

That decisive burst turned a manageable lead into a runaway. Texas Tech sent wave after wave of hitters to the plate, with Lis and Mia Williams each delivering run-producing hits before Hailey Toney put an exclamation point on the rally with a two-run homer.

Toney’s fifth home run of the season highlighted a seven-run inning that buried the Wildcats.

Lis stayed hot at the plate, finishing 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs. Williams added two more RBIs, while Davis, Taylor Pannell, Lauren Allred, and Terry also contributed hits as the lineup continued to show its depth.

Terry’s night was especially impressive because she delivered on both sides. In addition to extending her hitting streak to 24 games, she improved to 14-0 in the circle.

Terry gave Texas Tech exactly what it needed in the circle, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out eight in four innings.

When her work was done, NiJaree Canady handled the rest in dominant fashion, striking out all three batters she faced. Canady now sits just seven strikeouts away from 1,000 for her career.

Texas Tech now heads home for a three-game series with BYU looking every bit like a national title contender.
