Texas Tech volleyball released its 2026 schedule, featuring 13 home matches, two preseason scrimmages and several first-time opponents.
Texas Tech volleyball is taking the long road before Big 12 play gets serious.
The Red Raiders released their full 2026 schedule Friday, and it comes with a little bit of everything: home energy, road tests, first-time matchups and a nonconference slate built to see exactly what this team has before league play starts swinging.
Texas Tech will host 13 matches at United Supermarkets Arena, along with two preseason scrimmages.
That gives the Red Raiders a strong home base, but the early schedule won’t let them get too comfortable.
Before the regular season begins, Tech will tune up with scrimmages against ACU on Aug. 14 and UTEP on Aug. 22.
The Red and Black Scrimmage is set for Aug. 21, giving fans an early look at the roster before the real grind begins.
Then comes the travel.
Texas Tech opens the regular season in Laramie, Wyoming, where the Red Raiders will face Wyoming on Aug. 28 and St. Thomas on Aug. 29. Both are first-time opponents for the program, adding some mystery to opening weekend.
The road swing continues in Sacramento, where Tech will take on Saint Mary’s on Sept. 3, Sacramento State on Sept. 4 and Nevada on Sept. 5.
Saint Mary’s is another new opponent on the schedule, while the West Coast trip should give the Red Raiders an early toughness check away from Lubbock.
The home spotlight arrives with the Red Raider Classic. Texas Tech opens that event against UTRGV on Sept. 10 before facing Prairie View A&M later that night. Portland State follows on Sept. 11, then Tarleton State comes to town for a midweek match on Sept. 15.
Tech closes nonconference play in Michigan with matches against Eastern Michigan, Michigan and Cornell. The Wolverines and Cornell are also first-time matchups.
After that, the Big 12 waits. Texas Tech’s schedule isn’t just busy. It’s built to harden a team before conference play starts throwing punches.
