The Red Raiders have had a perfect start to the season, and now they must guard against letting complacency set in.
The Texas Tech Red Raiders will be looking to maintain the rage against the Arizona State Sun Devils at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock on Saturday.
With the Red Raiders coming off a 29-7 win over Colorado last time out, Joey McGuire's team is firing on all cylinders heading into this one.
While the Sun Devils have been the very definition of a yo-yo form-wise, going win, loss, win, loss to start the year and now sit at 3-2 on the year.
So, on paper, this is a game that the Red Raiders should be winning, but as we know, given the amount of upsets we have already seen in college football, Texas Tech can't take this one for granted.
The offense has been rolling for the 5-0 Red Raiders, averaging 34 points per game, with Will Hammond doing a good job of distributing the ball to his playmakers, with Kenny Johnson, Coy Eakin, Terrance Carter, and Malcolm Simmons all having at least one touchdown this season.
Plus the run game has been serviceable, with J'Koby Williams (373 yards, 3 TDs), and Cameron Dickey (242 yards, 4 TDs), getting consistent production on the ground.
For the Sun Devils, their offense also averaged over 30 points per game, but defensively, they are giving up 27 per game, so the offensive production is being wasted.
The Red Raiders will have to keep receiver Reed Harris in check, who has totaled 590 yards and 7 TDs already this season, as the Sun Devils have a true one-man show in the passing game.
Don't forget about the run gam either, with Kyson Brown (290 yards, 5.3 yards per clip) and Cardae Mack (214 yards, 2 TDs) also producing for the Sun Devils.
Still, this is a game the Red Raiders should be winning, as long as they don't play with their food.
