Texas Tech has secured several high-level recruits from the class of 2027, but where do the Red Raiders stack up among the rest of the nation?

LUBBOCK -- Texas Tech has been known for bringing in elite talent to Lubbock under head coach Joey McGuire, and that trend has only continued in the 2027 high school recruiting cycle.

The Red Raiders have been heavy hitters in securing the commitments of several of the nation's top prospects and have made strides toward bolstering up their young core for the future.

This does not even account for the reclassification of then-No. 1 recruit LaDamion Guyton, who chose to join Texas Tech this season instead.

Even in the face of this so-called loss, which still benefits the Red Raiders, Texas Tech is in the upper echelon of early rankings.

According to ESPN, Texas Tech slotted in the top 10 of its latest rankings update and boast the nation's tenth best class for 2027.

The Red Raiders' solid group of talent is highlighted on offense by quarterback Kavian Bryant, and on defense by new No. 1 prospect DL Jalen Brewster.

Bryant is a Texas high school product, hailing from Westwood High School in Palestine.

The senior gunslinger signed onto Texas Tech as a four-star recruit and the eighth rated QB in the class of 2027.

So far in his high school career, Bryant has thrown for at least 30 passing touchdowns each year under center while also racking up seven or more rushing scores every season.

Brewster is another standout from the Lone Star State, spending his high school days at Cedar Hill. For those unaware, head coach Joey McGuire spent a few seasons there and had quite the successful stint.

And McGuire looks to take full advantage of the product of his former school. Brewster is a five-star talent and has been a menace for opposing offenses at the tackle position, with other experience at defensive end, running back and even quarterback out of the Wildcat.

Obviously, these two stars, as talented as they may be, are not the sole reasons Texas Tech has garnered such high respect for its latest bunch of recruits.

McGuire and company have landed 10 commitments within ESPN's SC Next 300, which is more than programs like Georgia, Clemson and LSU.

This includes another five-star in defensive end Anthony Sweeney and a pair of targets for Bryant with Benny Easter Jr. and Julian Caldwell, both also from Texas.

While there is still time to add names to the already impressive list, and Texas Tech is undoubtedly working to do so, it has shown that it is demanding to be taken seriously with the other biggest names in the sport.
