We could be seeing Texas Tech's next starting quarterback make his first public appearance in Lubbock to support the Lady Raiders at the United Supermarkets Arena soon.

LUBBOCK, Texas - After Krista Gerlich guided the Texas Tech Lady Raiders to a program-best 18th win in a row to begin the season, she took to social media to shout out a new face on campus.

"Really proud of this team's connectivity and poise," Gerlich wrote on X after Tech's 71-60 win over the Cincinnati Bearcats on the road.

"Hey [Brendan Sorsby], if you & Gretchen [Sigman] need a lift to Lubbock, we are headed that way."

Sorsby, the former Bearcats quarterback, recently committed to the Red Raiders out of the transfer portal for a reported $5 million NIL compensation. He announced the news just days after Sigman, his girlfriend, announced that she is transferring from Cincy to Texas Tech for volleyball.

QB1 responded to Gerlich in support of the Lady Raiders' phenomenal start by hinting at an appearance at United Supermarkets Arena when the team returns to their home court this week.

"Already here coach!" Sorsby said in response to Gerlich. "Waiting on y'all to get back so we can come watch a game!"

The No. 17-ranked Lady Raiders host Houston at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, where we could see the next leader of Tech's stellar football transfer portal haul on campus to support his new classmates.

It's a two-game slate for Gerlich's squad this week as they stay home to host Kansas State on Saturday. The men's team is also at home with a game on Wednesday against Utah and a meeting with No. 9 BYU, who is led by NBA Draft prospect AJ Dybantsa.

The Lady Raiders boast the nation's 10th-best scoring defense at 53.3 points allowed per game. That defense is expected to improve even more once 7-1 center Stephanie Okechukwu is cleared to make her debut after signing with this month.

When Okechukwu hits the floor, she will officially be the tallest women's basketball player in NCAA history.
