The Green Wave is bringing in the brother of a standout defensive brother, and the two will have the opportunity to play alongside each other in 2026.

The Tulane Green Wave has added another new student-athlete to its 2026 roster, but this player is quite familiar to one member of the team.

Justin Agu, the brother of standout linebacker Dickson Agu, officially announced his commitment to the Green Wave on social media on Saturday afternoon. It's a big reunion for the two brothers -- both of whom have plenty of experience and will look to take on some leadership roles as preparations for next season begin.

Justin started his career with the University of Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, where he made big contributions in the secondary across the 2023 and 2024 seasons. In those two years, he posted a combined 49 total tackles -- 41 of which were solo -- and five passes defended.

The junior took his talents north and joined the Louisville Cardinals ahead of the 2025 season. His contributions with the program were a bit more limited, and he posted six total tackles in five games played. Of note, Justin did make his presence known on the field with one tackle in his former's teams massive upset over the eventual national runner-up Miami Hurricanes

The move to Uptown could be the fresh start that Justin needs, especially because it includes the opportunity to play alongside his brother in what could be the final season of his college career. On top of this, the team certainly needed to bulk up its secondary a bit, as the unit took a hit when the transfer portal opened up.

Speaking of the transfer portal... it might be closed to new entries for most teams at this time, but there are still plenty of players within it that are looking to find their next teams. Expect Tulane to continue to pursue any available options that might fit team needs moving forward as it builds around the players that are undoubtedly committed to the program heading into 2026.

As of now, the Green Wave's portal class is a bit further behind than it has been in recent years. The team ranks 113th overall according to 247 Sports, with 16 total commits, four three-star players and 9.43 points.

Tulane ranks 11th out of 12 teams in the American Conference transfer portal rankings; only the Rice Owls have fewer points or three-star players, though they do have one extra commit. Interestingly enough, the Green Wave has an average recruit ranking of 84.50, which puts them tied with the sixth-ranked Florida Atlantic Owls and the seventh-ranked UTSA Roadrunners.
