Tulane Football Bolsters Recruiting Class With 2026 Linebacker Commit cover image

The Tulane Green Wave are building their future with high school recruits, adding an athletic linebacker who was his district's defensive MVP.

While most college football teams are built through the transfer portal nowadays, the programs who still place a premium on recruitment and development are setting up a better foundation for success. The Tulane Green Wave are looking to be one of those programs under new head coach Will Hall, as that’s one of the pillars of his core values. It’s impossible to keep every player in the NIL era, but a program that starts the cultivation of a player on and off the field has the best recruiting pitch outside of a dollar amount. Looking at the players who officially announced their return to the Green Wave, a considerable number started their careers Uptown.

On offense, that includes o-linemen Reese Baker, Elijah Baker, and Darion Reed, running back Jamauri McClure, and wide receivers Zycarl Lewis, Shaun Nicholas, and Oliver Mitchell. Defensively, that includes linebackers Dickson Agu and Makai Williams, defensive linemen Geordan Guidry and Jah’rie Garner, safeties Joshua Moore and Kevin Adams, and cornerback E’Zaiah Shine. Two starters began at Troy with Jon Sumrall but have seen the majority of their development and playing career flourish at Tulane in safety Jack Tchienchou and Chris Rodgers. The Green Wave’s track record shows in the core of returners who signed out of high school, and Tulane hopes to see that full development play out with their latest 2026 high school commit.

Inside linebacker Dylan Brasher announced his commitment via social media to the Green Wave on Monday evening. Brasher is 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds out of Drippings Springs High School in Texas. It’s an impressive stature for a high schooler, looking at the size of Tulane’s other linebackers. Rodgers is 6-foot-1, 223 pounds, Agu is 6-foot-2, 222 pounds, and Williams is 6-foot-1, 225 pounds. The high schooler will certainly add some weight once he hits the Green Wave’s collegiate strength and conditioning program.

Tulane actually flipped him from a conference rival, as Brasher was officially committed to the Navy Midshipmen, but decommitted after an offer from the Green Wave. Brasher also held offers from the Oklahoma State Cowboys, UTSA Roadrunners, and North Texas Mean Green among others. Brasher holds a 4.3 GPA and 1270 SAT score, so he fits the academic profile at Tulane.

He helped Dripping Springs to a 12-2 record and posted 125 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, five quarterback hurries, and four pass breakups. He earned Defensive MVP of his school district for his efforts in his junior season. Brasher will look to join a strong room of linebackers and be coached by linebackers coach and new defensive coordinator Tayler Polk.
