The Tulane Green Wave football draft-eligible players will participate in their local pro day at the New Orleans Saints' facility.
The Tulane Green Wave football team will host its Pro Day for their draft eligible players on Tuesday, March 24 at the New Orleans Saints Oschner Sports Performance Center in Metairie, LA at 8 a.m. The Green Wave will have 13 total players: 11 of the team’s draft eligible players from last season, and two former players with the program, which is a cool gesture by Tulane to invite past players to participate.
As the Green Wave football team has its spring break, those 13 players will look to impress NFL scouts, GMs, coaches and the like to hopefully make the jump to the NFL, either through the 2026 NFL draft or signing with a team as an undrafted free agent. A strong pro day showing can push a prospect into a stronger round, from undrafted to a later-round pick, or into that group of priority UDFAs.
Here is the list of draft eligible players who will undergo testing and position drills:
Tulane Pro Day Participants
QB Jake Retzlaff
WR Tre Shackelford
TE Johnny Pascuzzi
OL Derrick Graham
OL Jack Hollifield
OL Jordan Hall
SS Bailey Despanie
DB Isaiah Wadsworth
DB KC Eziomume
LB Sam Howard
DL Kameron Hamilton
Former Tulane Player Participants:
LB Mandel Eugene
DL Angelo Anderson
The longest tenured players in that list are Despanie, as the strong safety spent his entire career with the Green Wave, and Kam Hamilton, both of whom started their careers under former coach Willie Fritz.
Other players, like Graham and Howard joined the team in former coach Jon Sumrall’s first season and helped strengthen and solidify the championship culture there.
The remaining participants all came to play in one season with the Wave – one that saw them win their second American conference title and make their first-ever College Football Playoff appearance.
Retzlaff will participate in his second pro day, notably, as he went back to the BYU Cougars to throw to his former teammates in their pro day last week. He’ll be back in New Orleans to do workouts and throw to Shackelford and Pascuzzi.
Then there’s the former players of Anderson and Eugene, who developed several years with the program but transferred in their final years to get playing time on the field.
Testing will begin at 8 a.m., and will include: height, weight, hand size, arm length, and wingspan measurements, the bench press, vertical jump, broad jump, 40-yd dash, short shuttle, and L-Drill or three-cone drill.
Then at 9:30 am, the players will transition into groups for positional drills: defensive backs/linebackers, quarterbacks/wide receivers/tight ends, defensive line, and offensive line.
Only Retzlaff and Shackelford participated in a pre-draft showcase, playing in the Hula Bowl in Florida, which makes this opportunity crucial for the group of players looking to impress NFL teams in their one shot, as well as suit up and compete alongside their Tulane teammates one final time.
