The Green Wave locked down 10 commitments from the Class of 2027 on Friday.

What a weekend it's been for the Tulane Green Wave football program... and it's only the beginning of June.

Tulane locked down 10 commitments from the Class of 2027 on Friday, with a handful of official announcements from commits finally coming out on Saturday and Sunday. The Green Wave continues to beat out other successful programs for many of these players, most notably grabbing three-star Ray'Quan Williams, who held offers from the likes of the LSU Tigers, Texas Longhorns and Miami Hurricanes.

Despite all of the changes in Uptown in the offseason, it's evident that recruits are still buying into the program wholeheartedly. Will Hall and his new group of assistants are doing something right in his first few months as the team's head coach, and recruiting continues to meet high expectations.

Additionally, coming off of an appearance in the College Football Playoff has done wonders for the trajectory of Tulane -- despite an early exit against the eventual semifinalist Ole Miss Rebels. There are now more eyes on the program than ever before, and there is an expectation that the Green Wave can and will remain a contender for the American Conference Championship. Some of the league's other top schools that normally fight for the same recruits -- the Memphis Tigers, South Florida Bulls and North Texas Mean Green -- are a step behind.

Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, let's look at the realistic side of things. These commits haven't even started their senior year of high school, and in the age of NIL, a lot of things can change between now and National Signing Day. It's not just a Tulane problem; schools all across the country earn commitments from players, only for them to flip at least a time or two before signing with a completely different team. Regardless, the fact that these student-athletes are impressed enough to commit to the Green Wave this far in advance is promising.

In order to keep these commits rolling in, the Olive Green and Sky Blue must deliver on the gridiron this year. It's going to be hard for the program to reach the level that it did in 2025, but it must still be competitive enough to be in contention for that coveted Group of Five CFP bid through the final few weeks of the year.

If Tulane can do that, then recruiting should likely continue to remain steady, or perhaps even improve some. If not, then there will be some questions raised as to how many of these commitments the Green Wave can hold onto, and if the program can continue to recruit at the level that it has.
