Head Coach Will Hall and student-athletes Jack Tchienchou and Chris Rodgers will represent the Green Wave in St. Petersburg, Florida.

The Tulane Green Wave will be stepping into the 2026 American Kickoff in style as the reigning conference champions.

Head coach Will Hall, safety Jack Tchienchou and linebacker Chris Rodgers are set to represent Tulane at the two-day affair, which begins on Thursday afternoon. The American Kickoff is a massive media event that brings all of the league's teams together ahead of the start of the college football season, with coaches participating in major press conferences and players having the chance to speak with media members. It also gives fans an opportunity to interact with rising stars ahead of the season.

It's a no brainer that Tchienchou and Rodgers were selected to represent their university on one of the conference's biggest stages. Both are elite defenders who have given their all to the program since transferring in, and they are once again expected to be some of the biggest difference-makers on the field.

Tchienchou made a massive jump in 2025, totaling 83 tackles, two tackles-for-loss and one sack in 14 games started. The safety out of Atlanta, Georgia, also had two interceptions, five passes defended, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Rodgers brings just as much versatility and talent to the defensive side of the ball. The linebacker out of Corinth, Mississippi, had 80 tackles, seven tackles-for-loss, 2.5 sacks, two quarterback hurries and one interception on the year.

This will also be Hall's first American Kickoff as the head coach of the Olive Green and Sky Blue. He is set to take questions from the media at the event's main press conference on Friday, July 24th, from 11:20 a.m. CT to 11:40 p.m. CT. He will be the ninth head coach to talk during the event.

Tchienchou and Rodgers will join Hall for two additional events. The first will bring all three individuals together for press opportunities, with local television as well as print and digital media meeting with the trio for individual interviews. This session will run from 9:20 a.m. to 10 a.m. ET.

Fans will have a better chance to interact with and potentially take pictures with the Green Wave from 10:00 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. ET at a meet and greet event. Hall, Tchienchou and Rodgers can also be interviewed for radio and podcasts segments during this time.

This is one of the last major events for Tulane before fall camp begins and the season kicks off. The Green Wave will open its 2026 campaign on the road against the Duke Blue Devils on September 5th at 2:30 p.m. CT.
