Rodgers is one of 10 non-Power 4 players recognized.

Tulane Green Wave linebacker Chris Rodgers is expected to have a big year, and he's earning some well-deserved recognition ahead of the season.

Rodgers has been named to the 2027 Senior Bowl Top 300 List. This list is formed by a committee of former NFL scouts, who narrow down top draft-eligible candidates from a massive pool of over 2,000 prospects. Ultimately, only a handful of these players will make the official rosters for the Senior Bowl -- a type of "all-star game" held in Mobile, Alabama, that allows for talent evaluation and begins the NFL Draft process.

74 colleges and universities are represented in the Top 300, and Rodgers is one of just 10 players to come from a non-Power 4 school.

“We’ve challenged our staff to identify the 300 best draft-eligible players in the country, and this list represents the prospects we believe have separated themselves to this point in the evaluation process,” Senior Bowl Executive Director Drew Fabianich said. “There is a tremendous amount of talent among this year’s class, and earning a spot in our Top 300 is a reflection of the work these players have put on tape. This season is critical as we continue to evaluate these players. Our scouts will be on the road every week, and we expect this list to evolve as the season unfolds.”

The senior linebacker had a strong 2025 campaign and is set to be one of the defensive anchors for the Olive Green and Sky Blue this year. Rodgers started all 14 games last year, finishing with 80 tackles, seven tackles-for-loss, 2.5 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and a pass breakup.

At 6-foot-1 and 222 pounds, Rodgers might not be the largest linebacker on the team, but he's got incredible power and speed. He terrorized offenses all over the field during his junior year, quickly making a name for himself.

Aside from being named to the Senior Bowl Top 300 List, Rodgers has been named to the East-West Shrine Bowl Watch List. He's also tabbed as a Phil Steele First Team Preseason All-Conference honoree and an All Second Team Preseason All-Conference selection by both Athlon Sports and Pro Football Network.

Rodgers and the Green Wave will look to get the 2026 season started on the right foot as the program hits the road to take on the Duke Blue Devils on September 5th. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. CT.
