The Green Wave will be looking for another standout defensive showing all across the field.

The Tulane Green Wave will look to get its second American Conference win in a row as it faces the UTSA Roadrunners in Yulman Stadium on Saturday night.

The Green Wave is entering the game off of a big rivalry win over the Memphis Tigers, but the program is going to face an even tougher task against a UTSA squad that currently leads the American.

Tulane's defense took a massive step forward against the Tigers, with six turnovers forced and 16 combined tackles-for-loss and sacks. The performance certainly made a statement for the unit, especially since it has consistently ranked among the worst in the entire nation.

Can the Olive Green and Sky Blue keep things up in the upcoming pivotal matchup with the Roadrunners, and if so, who will be leading the charge? Here are three defensive standouts to watch heading into the game.

S Kevin Adams III

Adams has become one of the most important parts of the Green Wave defense, and he's been getting better every week.

The safety had nine total tackles, eight of which were solo, and two interceptions. He needed little help in making all the right plays for his team, and he was pretty quick to sniff out a play before Memphis could make too much noise.

It's no secret at this point: Adams is having quite the breakout campaign. As he continues to improve and feed off of momentum, he's only going to get better. Expect him to have another outstanding showing against UTSA.

LB Dickson Agu

Agu led the team in tackles against the Tigers, totaling 10 takedowns.

Yet, other than one pass defended, the linebacker didn't make too many big moves. His teammates were getting pretty involved with takeaways and big tackles, but his performance was a little bit less explosive. There's no doubt that he wants to get in on the fun everyone else had this weekend.

Agu has largely been the defense's most reliable player this year, and he consistently does his job, even when it isn't necessarily flashy. It's time for him to make more noise with some big, unforgettable plays.

DE Warren Roberts Jr.

Though he's only a freshman, this defensive end is already making a name for himself on the gridiron.

All four of Roberts' tackles against Memphis were solo, and he added one sack, one tackle-for-loss and one fumble recovery. Those are the numbers that you typically expect from an upperclassman defensive lineman, yet Roberts hasn't had too much of a problem against tough competition.

Let the young guy get some extra reps! Roberts has certainly earned them, and he's got a real chance to make a difference every week.
