The Green Wave saw a few solid showings from individual players, despite being defeated.

Things weren't pretty for the Tulane Green Wave over the weekend.

The team took a tough 31-20 loss to the Kansas State Wildcats on the road, falling to 1-2 on the year and 0-2 against Power Four opponents. The score looks closer than the game actually was, as the Green Wave added a touchdown to the board with just three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to cut into an 18-point deficit.

While things were ugly as a whole, a handful of Tulane players did their best to rise to the occasion.

Roundtable Player of the Week, Offense: RB Maurice Turner

Turner had his best game of the year so far, making noise both on the ground and through the air. The running back led the team with 64 yards on seven carries and 31 additional yards on two receptions -- one of which was a 25-yard touchdown catch. He did all of this even as his offensive line was largely unable to provide much protection.

Turner is looking for a breakout year after missing most of the 2025 campaign with an injury. Could this performance give him a spark moving forward?

Roundtable Most Underrated Player, Offense: QB Kadin Semonza

Semonza didn't have a particularly great performance, but he did the best he could given his circumstances. After all, how much better could he actually have done when he was under pressure or taking a sack the majority of the time?

Despite this, the signal-caller made some solid plays when necessary. Semonza's completion percentage of just 50 percent (13-of-26) left much to be desired, but he added 165 passing yards, one passing touchdown and one rushing touchdown with no turnovers. At this point, h's cemented himself as the starting quarterback moving forward.

Roundtable Player of the Week, Defense: S Kevin Adams III

Adams finished the game with a team-high eight tackles and one tackle-for-loss. He's had a strong start to the season, and in all honesty, this was a bit of a quieter outing for him compared to previous weeks.

The safety certainly deserves his flowers for being one of the few difference-makers on a defense that has truly struggled through three games. Adams is going to have to use that to try to motivate the rest of his unit moving forward.

Roundtable Most Underrated Player, Defense: DB TJ Smith

Though Tulane's secondary struggled against Avery Johnson and the Wildcats, Smith made some noise downfield.

The defensive back ended the night with four tackles, and he was the only player to record a pass breakup for the Green Wave. His coverage wasn't always as good as it could've been, but those few big stops were notable.
