Speed, size, and touchdown potential: UCF lands dynamic 2027 receiver Jamal Robinson Jr., adding another homegrown talent to its roster.
The UCF Knights earned their second commitment from the 2027 class, as three-star wide receiver Jamal Robinson Jr. announced his decision on Monday.
Robinson Jr. joined quarterback Logan Flaherty as the two commits from the class of 2027. Both are in-state recruits — Jackson Jr. from South Miami and Flaherty from Port Charlotte.
The three-star attends Mater Academy Charter in Hialeah Gardens and is 6-foot-2. He held offers from many programs — Florida, Florida State, Indiana and more.
Wide receiver coach Sean Beckton played a significant role in recruiting the young wideout to join the Knights in the future. Robinson Jr. would join a young core of Tyren Hornes and Waden Charles.
The 6-foot-2 junior totaled 21 receptions for 391 yards and seven touchdowns last season.
Robinson Jr.'s size and speed proved troublesome for opposing defenses. He frequently beat his matchup downfield and was a wide-open target for his quarterback to throw to.
When cornerbacks or safeties covered him, he used his size to haul down the airborne ball over the defender. Robinson Jr.'s speed also made him hard to tackle in the open field, breezing past defenders for big yards.
The three-star wideout still has an additional year to hone his talents and arrive at the UCF fields as a polished receiver who could immediately earn playing time, as Charles did in his freshman year.
Robinson Jr. could have the opportunity to shine in his home state, only a few hours away from family, which coach Scott Frost said is a selling point for UCF in the recruitment process.
"I know a lot of kids that we came across would really like to be here," Frost said on Dec. 3, 2025. "We were able to narrow it down to the ones that we really wanted and try to build a foundation with these guys."
The Knights picked up another in-state recruit for their 2027 class, and the program wants to continue finding homegrown talent that could help build its culture and foundation.
"We're going to look under every rock and try to find the guys that fit us," Frost said. "I feel really good about the guys we need to get."
