Nebraska Cornhusker fans were upset by words said by UCF coach Scott Frost

UCF Knights coach Scott Frost is trying to distance himself from his stint with the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

It just keeps surfacing because Frost is often asked about his time with the Cornhuskers. It happened recently when the subject was brought up during his interview with Brett McMurphy of On3.com

"I don't want to talk about Nebraska at all,” Scott Frost said in the interview. “But what I will say there’s a freedom to allowing you to just try to excel and not worry about the outside noise because it could be crippling at times in certain places. It’s the exact opposite here (at UCF).”

The comments irked the Cornhuskers fan base. Many took to social media to express their displeasure with Frost.

One user wrote on X: "He’s not the first man that gambling, alcoholism, womanizing/infidelity, and drugs took down. He was always an asshole and still is. He can’t take accountability for his own faults and mistakes, and always blames others."

Another wrote: "I wish Scott Frost peace of mind and success. But at some point he needs to own his poor tenure at Nebraska and teams that played without discipline, executed poorly and couldn’t win close games. Those performances on the field reflect bad coaching not “noise” around the program."

Another wrote: "Has anyone ever just told the guy to say basically... I wanted like nothing else to have been the guy to turn things around for Nebraska. In the end unfortunately that did not work out but I still wish the program the best as I move on to where I am at now. Maybe journos will stop asking about Nebraska after that kind of statement because he never made a statement like that after he was gone."

The bottom line is Frost should probably just stop discussing his tenure at Nebraska. After turning UCF into a winner, he was just 16-31 in four-plus seasons with the Cornhuskers before being fired. Some would say he was never a good fit in Lincoln.

It's best for Frost to just focus on getting the Knights back on the winning track.
