The Knights are dominating the local recruiting trail, surging to the top of the list for elite Florida prospects after a weekend of impactful campus visits.
The UCF Knights are gaining favor with 2027 recruits after hosting several this past weekend, cementing their position as one of Akhcuonam Augustin and Omari St. Fort's favorite programs.
Augustin is a defensive lineman, and St. Fort is a running back. Both are in-state recruits, highlighting UCF's influence and emphasis on scouting talent in its backyard.
"UCF ranks very highly right now," Augustin told Knights247 Andrew Cherico. "They're number one."
Augustin is 6-foot-4 and attends Barron Collier High School in Naples, Florida. He is unranked, according to 247Sports, and UCF is his predicted school according to the crystal ball predictions.
The unranked defensive lineman recorded 33 tackles (23 solo), nine TFL, six sacks, two quarterback hurries and one fumble recovery in his junior campaign. Augustin returned his lone recovery for 73 yards in Barron Collier's loss to Estero High School.
St. Fort is a 6-foot running back and also spreads out to wide receiver for Atlantic Community High School in Delray Beach, Florida. Like Augustin, St. Fort is unranked, and there is no crystal ball prediction for him yet.
He rushed for 734 yards and eight touchdowns on 98 carries last season for the Eagles. When Atlantic used St. Fort as a receiver, he hauled in 108 yards and a touchdown on 17 receptions.
What stood out to St. Fort in his three-day visit to UCF was the camaraderie on and off the field. He said it felt like family, and that was important to him.
Both Augustin and St. Fort, if committed, would join young position groups. Five defensive linemen are seniors, which opens some depth for Augustin after next season.
Landen Chambers and Duke Watson are juniors, so they will most likely remain on the roster in 2027. St. Fort would join Kaj Baker and Arthur Lewis IV as the underclassmen running backs.
The Knights have hit the ground running with the 2027 recruiting class. They have six commits and are in the running for several more.
