FIU transfer Keyone Jenkins praises the Knights' versatile depth, highlighting a mobile group of dual-threat playmakers ready to elevate the offense through relentless coaching and explosive athleticism.
The UCF Knights quarterback room is one of the deepest positions on the team, and Keyone Jenkins said it's the best group he's been around.
UCF has Alonza Barnett III, Keyone Jenkins, Kaleb Annett, Rocco Marriott and Dante Carr in the quarterback room. Jenkins said the room is versatile and extends plays with their running ability.
"They're the best quarterback room I've been around since I've been in college," Jenkins said on Saturday. "We got a lot of big arms and a lot of athletes in the room as well. And you just got a KP. So, a lot of guys can do a lot of things different, but I feel like the whole room is able to scramble and make plays and extend plays as a group."
Each quarterback for the Knights possesses dual-threat abilities to throw and run outside the pocket to extend plays.
Jenkins, an FIU transfer, threw for 1,742 yards, nine touchdowns and six interceptions last season. He added 132 yards and five touchdowns on 51 carries.
The Miami, Florida native stays within the state at UCF and said a lot of fans believe he's an exciting watch.
"I could run, and I could extend plays and make plays on the field," Jenkins said. "Whether it's inside the pocket, outside the pocket, and a lot of people say I'm exciting to watch, but I don't want to boast about myself. I'm going to let the fans answer that for you."
Jenkins entered the transfer portal on Jan. 1 and committed to UCF 19 days later. The former Panther said he's been getting coached nonstop and it's a factor he said the coaching staff loves about him.
"Ever since I got here, it's been non-stop coaching, whether it's good or bad," Jenkins said. "I can take criticism and coaching. I'm able to be coached, and that's a big key factor they told me that they like about me. And we've got some ways to go, but I've been getting better 100% every day since I've been here."
Whether he's starting or the backup quarterback, Jenkins said he's going to let his game do the talking and help UCF win games.
