The UCF Knights are set to hire experienced offensive line coach

The UCF Knights have finally a decision on their new offensive line coach.

According to multiple reports, the Knights are set to hire AJ Blazek, who was most recently with the Wisconsin Badgers in the Big Ten. He replaces the late Shawn Clark, who passed away unexpected at the beginning of last season.

Blazek also has stops at Iowa, Western Illinois, Rutgers and North Dakota State.

TRANSFER PORTAL TARGETS

Coach Scott Frost and his team have lost 20 players to the transfer portal, but Frost is excited to participate when the portal opens on Jan. 2.

Key position groups, like the offensive and defensive line, need revamping to mitigate the impact of the losses they experienced. The transfer portal is an opportunity for Frost to rebuild his program into a winning culture.

"Yeah, I think every time you get to this stage in the year, you're excited to reset and rebuild," Frost said. "We got to do a great job of evaluation. We got to do a great job of selling UCF. I think we made a lot of strides this year, but we need to turn the corner and get over the hump - be a winning program. We certainly need some additions in order to make that happen, and there's a lot of work being done right now to make sure we get the right guys in here that can do that."

Some interesting names in the portal UCF could target are: quarterbacks EJ Colson and Beau Pribula; defensive tackle Christian Hudson and defensive back Jamroc Grimsley. These are some players to keep an eye on because of their connections to the program.

Colson spent his freshman year with the Knights, but transferred to the University of the Incarnate Ward where he erupted this past season. The former Knight threw for 2,142 yards, 16 touchdowns and four interceptions, while rushing 107 times for 287 yards and three touchdowns.

Pete Nakos of On3Sports reported Colson entered the transfer portal last Wednesday, and the news caught the eye of many UCF fans and media. Frost has lost Tayven Jackson and Jacurri Brown to the portal, leaving the starting quarterback mantle to incoming four-star Rocco Marriott or Davi Belfort

HARVEY CONTINUES TO IMPRESS

UCF all-time touchdown leader RJ Harvey has continued his scoring theme in his rookie year. This past Sunday, Harvey scored his eleventh touchdown of the year, the most among rookies.

Harvey was extremely effective against the Jacksonville Jaguars, totaling 50 yards on the ground on only seven attempts. He continued his receiving prowess as well, hauling in four receptions for 71 yards, including a 32-yard catch.
