John Bol, Devan Cambridge and Themus Fulks were the three Knights available at the March Madness first round media day on Thursday, where they talked about the opportunity they have to cement themselves in history.
Here's what the trio said about leaving their mark on not only the tournament, but the UCF program as well.
Bol: "I think this program itself, you know, coming from the the conference they came from to play in the Big 12. I feel like us being here right now just speak volumes of, you know, the coaches doing the recruiting process, you know, who they recruited, the right people, the right pieces to actually put something together for us to be here right now."
Cambridge: "I would say it means a lot. Like in the in our gym, you don't see too many banners, you know, especially championships. So that that's been our goal all year to win a championship. You know, we missed out on the regular season. We missed out on the Big 12. So, you know, this is our last chance to go and get that. And we have the group to do that. We have a bunch of hard-nosed dudes that's coming to prove themselves. And like I said, we're just going to do be try to be 1-0 every game. You know, we got six games to make that happen. And yeah, it's gonna mean a lot."
Fulks: "We understand how important this is, how big this is for the community. We're playing for something bigger than ourselves. Legacy, everything. But at the end of the day, we're blessed to be in this position and we're going to try to take full advantage of it. We're not going to think too too much into the future. You know, we're trying to look back on this and be like, you know, we had an amazing time and we know that a banner is going to be risen in the gym and we can look back and talk about this forever."
All three players are set on a common goal, bringing home a banner to hang in Addition Financial Arena.
UCF tips off against UCLA at 7:25 p.m. ET as the Knights look to capture their second March Madness victory in program history.
