Landen Chambers' impressive grade highlights his impact. The Knights secured a powerhouse running back ready to dominate the backfield with proven production.

Coach Scott Frost and the UCF Knights recruited elite, experienced talent in the transfer portal, and running back Landen Chambers was one of the highest-graded running backs.

Chambers received an 88.0 rating, according to a post by the PFSN College X account on Tuesday morning. His grade placed him as the sixth-highest-graded transfer running back.

The Central Arkansas transfer was one of UCF's biggest signings. He's a player with proven production, and he has two years of eligibility remaining. Frost said Chambers' tape really jumped out at him when UCF was active in the transfer portal.

"It really got my attention because of his size, his balance and his ability to stay on his feet through contact," Frost said."We didn't really have a big back last year, and I think he's going to be a little different than the rest of the guys we have. I'm really excited to see him get in our weight room and get bigger, stronger, faster, and seeing what he can do."

Chambers had a standout redshirt sophomore season with the Bears, running for 1,273 yards and scoring 10 touchdowns on 242 carries. He also had 27 receptions for 238 yards. The 5-foot-11 transfer from Fort Worth, Texas, recorded over 100 yards in nine games.

His first 100-plus yarder came in a 41-17 victory against Arkansas Pine-Bluff, rushing for 106 yards. Chambers followed that performance with 38 yards in a 56-10 loss against Tarleton State.

After that game, he ripped off eight-straight 100-plus yard performances.

Chambers' excellent year earned him All-United Athletic Conference First Team and the 10th highest rushing yards in the FCS.

Frost confirmed Chambers is an upper-echelon player at his position, competing with Louisville transfer Duke Watson and redshirt freshman returner Taevion Swint for lead running back snaps.

Chambers' profile matches what Frost and general manager Trent Mossbrucker were searching for in the transfer portal last month.

"I'm always looking for elite athletic traits, and I still am, and I will always look for those traits," Frost said. "I don't think you can be an elite player without them. I would say that Trent probably leans more towards guys that have proven production. And so every guy that we looked at was kind of a balance between those two things.

As the UCF Knights inch closer to spring and fall camps, it seems they've nailed their portal signings.

Chambers is one of the many experienced players with proven production on their resume, aiming to make an immediate impact with the Knights.
