A New York court ruling clears the path for the dynamic "Big Guard" to join Rick Pitino at St. John’s, bolstering the Red Storm’s offensive arsenal.
With the college football season underway, UCF's football roster is likely set.
But, the Knights could still add through the transfer portal, with Riley Kugel seeking a potential return to Orlando if granted extra eligibility.
Former UCF standout forward Keyshawn Hall is another player trying to take advantage of the NCAA's madness.
He is currently committed to St. John's, but had not been deemed eligible until Friday.
As of Oct. 2, Hall was granted his fifth year by a New York court, which temporarily paves a path for the former Big 12 leading scorer to join legendary head coach Rick Pitino in Queens.
Hall is not the only player Pitino is working on bringing into the program, as Senegalese forward Babacar Sane, British point guard Quinn Ellis, and fifth-year Indiana transfer forward Reed Bailey are all currently committed.
Hall, like Sane and Ellis, will each have their court trials this week to likely get a final ruling, and solidify the Johnnies' roster.
It would also mean a fifth school in five years for Hall, who has grown each season of his collegiate career.
After starting at UNLV and spending his sophomore year with George Mason, Hall made the move to the Power 4.
With the Knights, Hall averaged 18.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists, shooting at 43/35/82 splits.
The self-proclaimed "Big Guard" was dynamic for the Knights, posting multiple high scoring games and scoring from all three levels.
Hall's 620 points on the season were the ninth most in a season in UCF history and he once again found himself on the second team in his conference's awards.
Following his standout season with the Black and Gold, Hall originally voiced that he was going to return to the program for his senior campaign. However, after this original claim, Hall decided to enter the NBA Draft.
After going through the pre-draft process, Hall decided to return to college, committing to Auburn.
Hall had a stellar season with first-year head coach Steven Pearl, but remained off most draft boards going into this year's selections.
Sure enough, Hall went undrafted, but landed with the Miami Heat as part of their preseason squad.
After limited opportunities in the NBA Summer League, the gears began turning with all of the players seeking a return to college hoops, with Hall joining the fight.
If he can return to school, Hall's offensive game would become more-polished, and he can work to make another push towards the NBA next season.
