The Cowboys land a four-star sharpshooter as the former UCF standout brings elite three-point range and defensive versatility to Stillwater following a breakout season in Orlando.
Last season, junior forward Jordan Burks was a big reason for UCF's success, serving as the Knights' most consistent 3-point shooter.
After his breakout season, Burks entered the transfer portal, keeping a return to Orlando open.
But, after a long time in the portal, Burks announced he would be transferring to Oklahoma State, finishing out his collegiate career in the Big 12.
Last week, Burks was named a top-five player remaining in the portal by The Field of 68, ranking in as a four-star transfer.
Burks was the Knights' third leading scorer, averaging 13.3 points per game on 37.3% shooting from 3-point range.
The lengthy forward joined UCF after a limited season at Georgetown, where he averaged less than six points and started just 11 games.
Burks frequently showed up in the Knights' biggest moments, recording five showings of 20 or more points against some of UCF's toughest opponents.
In UCF's 75-71 loss to UCLA in the first round of March Madness, Burks showed out, scoring a game-high 22 points while making six 3-pointers.
Burks was huge in keeping UCF within striking distance, knocking down timely long balls and shooting over 50% from the field (8-15).
Following the loss, Burks talked about how crucial head coach Johnny Dawkins and the rest of the staff was to helping him breakout.
"The whole staff, Coach Dawkins, they pour into you," Burks said. "Like off the court, on the court, it doesn't really matter. They molded me into a a nice young man. I feel like they gave me a chance and I just took the opportunity and capitalized as much as I possibly could."
Burks also took the time to thank his teammates, saying that his comrades helped him gain the confidence needed to excel.
In one of the Knights' marquee wins, a 97-84 victory over then-ranked No. 19 Brigham Young University, Burks led the way, scoring 24 points on 9-of-12 shooting.
Burks was extremely efficient all night, knocking down four 3-pointers and seeking high-quality looks.
He also added value on the defensive end, notching two steals and a block.
Burks marks Oklahoma State's sixth transfer out of the portal, looking to reload under head coach Steve Lutz.
With another big season and strong showing from 3-point range, Burks could play his way into NBA Draft considerations next year.
Burks' length, range, and defensive versatility makes him a prototypical 3-and-D wing at the next level.
