Johnny Dawkins parlayed a gridiron victory into a major recruiting weekend, showcasing Orlando’s atmosphere to elite 4-star talents and seven-foot prospects from the classes of 2027 and 2028.
As UCF men's basketball gears up for another season, head coach Johnny Dawkins and his staff have not slowed down on the recruiting trail.
Over the weekend, UCF played host to multiple class of 2027 and 2028 talents, as the recruits got to see the Knights earn a 21-13 victory over TCU on the football field.
Here is a list of each recruit who has visited UCF over the past few weeks.
Lucai Anderson (2027)
Anderson is a 4-star shooting guard currently attending IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL.
He was also the lone UCF target who visited prior to the TCU game, taking in the campus by himself.
The Texas-native started his high school career with Trinity Christian Academy before joining the powerhouse Ascenders in the Sunshine State.
He is also the brother of former Texas Tech star Christian Anderson, who spent two seasons with the Red Raiders before being drafted No. 18 overall by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2026 NBA Draft.
“I really liked the program and the plan they have for me," Anderson said about his visit. "The school has a great environment with a great coaching staff”
Jackson Hawke (2027)
Hawke is one of the more under-the-radar prospects hosted by UCF over the weekend, but he has begun to draw significant attention from his showings at various camps.
He currently attends Utah Prep, the same high school were reigning No. 1 overall pick AJ Dybantsa attended for his senior campaign.
Hawke has good length and size on the wing, while providing efficient rebounding and offensive glass control.
Jacoby Briscoe (2027)
Briscoe, like Anderson is graded as a 4-star recruit, according to 247 Sports.
At 6-foot-6, 185 pounds, Briscoe is currently ranked the No. 2 player in all of Virginia, and plays at The St. James Academy.
UCF, Vanderbilt, and Washington are seen as the current leading programs, with Briscoe either visiting or planning to visit all three.
Precious Sam (2027)
Sam is the most-local recruit of the bunch, playing out his senior season at Southeastern Prep right here in Orlando.
At 6-foot-11, 235 pounds, Sam has the size and stature to compete for playing time right away at the collegiate level.
Playing for NBA veteran Paul George's AAU team, Sam averaged 7.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game during the Nike EYBL's Peach Jam, which is considered one of the AAU circuit's most-competitive tournaments.
Chase Smith (2028)
Smith is the lone junior who visited UCF over the weekend, ranking as the No. 3 player in all of North Carolina.
Koang Bol Kuany
Bol Kuany is a very intriguing prospect, standing at 7-feet tall and potentially bringing another Bol through the program.
Current starting center John Bol doesn't have any blood-relation to Bol Kuany, but both players are giants.
Bringing in Bol Kuany to be UCF's next 7-foot big man would allow him to learn from Bol, and potentially grow into the Knights' next dominant big man.
