The selection show is set for 7 p.m.

Players on the UConn softball team won’t have long to wait to learn their destination in the 2026 NCAA Tournament.

ESPN2 will broadcast the selection show Sunday at 7 p.m. ET.

The Huskies earned the automatic bid from the Big East after winning the conference championship on Saturday in Rosemont, Ill.

It’s their second consecutive trip to the tournament. In 2025, in the regional in Baton Rouge, La., the Huskies lost to Nebraska and LSU to force their elimination.

Winning the Big East

To win the conference championship, UConn had to go through Creighton. Three times.

The Huskies opened the double-elimination tournament with a 9-3 win over Creighton on Thursday, then followed with a 12-1 victory against Butler on Friday.

Creighton came out of the losers bracket to face UConn on Saturday. For UConn to advance, the Huskies needed one win. The Bluejays would need to win twice to earn the tournament bid.

Creighton won the opener 5-2, but UConn took the nightcap of a doubleheader 8-3 to capture the Big East crown.

The Huskies will find out later Sunday what region they have been assigned to as well as the four schools in their regional pod. The format will be the same as in the Big East conference: four teams, each needing to triumph in three games to advance to the next round.
