
He has been invited to attend the Men's U18 National Team training camp in Colorado later this month.
Colben Landrew will be gaining some extra experience this summer before he ever arrives for his freshman basketball season at UConn.
USA Basketball announced that Landrew is one of 35 players who have been invited to the Men's U18 National Team training camp. It is scheduled to begin May 21 at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
From that group, a 12-member team will be selected to take part in the 2026 FIBA U18 Men's AmeriCup, which is set to be played June 1-7 in Leon, Mexico.

Landrew, 18, is a 6-foot-6, 235-pound small forward from Wheeler High School in Marietta, Ga. He is ranked by the 247Sports composite as a five-star prospect and ninth in the nation at his position in the Class of 2026.
Players at the camp will be from the 2026, ‘27 and ‘28 classes. Other players from the 2026 class, and their colleges, are:

The coaches
Landrew and others will be learning in the training camp from a collection of experienced coaches. The head coach of the Men’s U18 National Team is Anthony Grant (Dayton) and assistant coaches Matt Langel (Colgate) and Nate Oats (Alabama).
Also working with the players at the start of the camp will be Dennis Gates (Missouri), Greg Kampe (Oakland), Dusty May (Michigan) and Ritchie McKay (Liberty).
Gates, Kampe and May are coaching USA Basketball for the first time.
Tournament schedule
At the 2026 FIBA U18 Men's AmeriCup, the United States will compete in group play with Argentina, Brazil and Mexico – all of whom the Americans have dominated.
Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame member Carmelo Anthony wore No. 15 when the United States won the Olympic gold medal in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. He set a record for U.S. men with four Olympics appearances. UConn alum Diana Taurasi hold the record among all players, men or women, with six gold medals in the Olympics. © Jeff Swinger-Imagn ImagesThe U.S. will meet Argentina on June 1, putting its 14-1 record against the team on the line. A game against Mexico (5-0 all-time) follows on June 2, and pool play will conclude June 4 against Brazil (11-0).
For the teams advancing out of pool play, quarterfinals are set for June 5. T he Under 18 semifinals will be June 6, with medal games to be played June 7.
The United States has won this event seven consecutive times – 11 times overall in 13 competitions.
