The Huskies are practicing in summer session, and they gave fans a little snippet of what to expect this upcoming year.

Usually? Forty-five seconds can't tell you a lot of anything.

Sometimes? You can get enough in 45 seconds.

That's how I felt on Thursday after getting a quick snippet of the work being put in by the UConn men's basketball team during the group's summer session. The UConn men's basketball "X" account posted a portion of the team's practice, and there were definitely a few takeaways to be had. Now, the Huskies had posted a workout video on June 14, but it was more individualized and didn't have the same feel as this one.

The Huskies are coming off an excellent season in which they finished second in the Big East and advanced all the way to the national title game, losing to Michigan. It was the third title game berth for Dan Hurley's team in four years. UConn had won the previous two.

Here's some of what we can gather from the video clip below.

Not having Alex Karaban out there is weird

Karaban, one of the most decorated and beloved players in UConn history, is moving onto the NBA after four incredible seasons. A two-time national champion, Karaban has already been enshrined in the 'Huskies of Honor.' Not having him out there as a leader and a scorer just feels different.

Silas Demary is stepping up in his place

Without Karaban, the leadership duties seem to be falling on Silas Demary Jr. That makes sense: He's going to be a senior, he's the point guard, and he's started 137 of a possible 139 college games between his time at Georgia and UConn.

With Karaban gone and Solo Ball injured, Demary figures to join Braylon Mullins as the primary playmakers for this group, so it's appropriate to see him in the leadership position.

The team is hungry

I've seen some other team's social media accounts post videos of workouts, and they don't all look like this. The Huskies look like a team that is hungry to get back to a title game. Everything they did was intentional and intense, which is exactly what you need if you're going to make another deep run in March.

Also in the news for UConn

Speaking of Karaban, the NBA Draft begins on June 23, meaning he's less than a week away from learning his professional home. The same goes for Tarris Reed Jr.

Both players are seen as fringy first-round prospects that could go late in the first round. If not then, they are seen as players that could go in the front end of the second round.

Both players have had workouts with multiple teams ahead of the draft.
