UConn is one of three teams to oppose Duke on national stage for marquee games in 2026-27. It should be one of the most anticipated men's basketball games in the upcoming campaign.

Brady Farkas speaks about Duke and UConn on April 29, before the Amazon Prime announcement.

And the big winner is…

Amazon Prime.

Duke University announced Thursday that it has reached a multiyear agreement with Prime Video to exclusively stream some Duke men’s basketball games, beginning with the 2026-27 season.

And with UConn as their first opponent.

Duke, in a news release issued Thursday, said it will play its first Prime Video game under the agreement against the Huskies on Nov. 26 – Thanksgiving Eve – from Las Vegas.

The game should be a winner for Prime, with two of the most prominent programs of this century meeting – the same two that took part in an epic game in the Elite Eight round of the 2025-26 Men’s NCAA Tournament on March 29. UConn won in the final second on a Braylon Mullins 3-pointer, 73-72, in a game both fanbases undoubtedly will remember.

The rematch between UConn and Duke could prove to be a downer for Huskies fans who don’t subscribe to Prime Video and will need to find a friend with the service -- one who wouldn’t mind having an uninvited guest while baking a pumpkin pie. Or, subscribe themselves.

"In addition to our outstanding partnership with ESPN, we are excited to work with Prime Video on this groundbreaking initiative," Duke athletic director Nina King said in the news release. "As Prime Video's first college sports partner, this collaboration not only expands the global reach of Duke Men's Basketball, but also creates meaningful opportunities for our student-athletes in a way that reflects innovation and excellence."

This is a game that traditional broadcast networks should be sorry to sit out. Already, we know it could be an instant classic.

After the UConn game, Duke will continue its run of star-studded opponents. Next up will be a showdown with reigning NCAA champ Michigan at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 21.

Prime Video's inaugural college basketball showcase will conclude on Feb. 20 -- with the Blue Devils squaring off against Gonzaga at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.

Game times and other information will be released as the date draws closer.

 About UConn in 2026-27

The Huskies advanced to the national championship game in on April 6, losing to Michigan, 69-63.  Gone are seniors Tarris Reed Jr. and Alex Karaban, both expected to be selected in the two rounds of picks in the June draft.

Starting shooting guard Solo Ball is out for the season because of left wrist surgery, meaning that the Huskies need to replace three starters. Backup big man Eric Reibe also left via the transfer portal (to Southern California) as has Jaylin Stewart (to SMU).

The Huskies have brought in multiple transfer portal pieces, including the newly signed Nils Machowski from Wofford, and will pair those additions with the returning Braylon Mullins and Silas Demary Jr.

The other new Huskies signed from the transfer portal are Najai Hines (Seton Hall), Nikolas Khamenia (Duke) and Oskar Giltay (Stanford). Machowski is pictured on the far left.
