Marine Dursus is a 5-foot-10 sharpshooting guard coming from a pro league in France.
The 2026 recruiting class for UConn women’s basketball now stands at three.
Head coach Geno Auriemma announced the addition of 5-foot-10 shooting guard Marine Dursus of France to the Huskies’ 2026-27 roster on Friday.
"It's exciting to find players who naturally are blessed with the ability to score," Auriemma said in a UConn news release. "I think Marine's greatest assets are she plays exceptionally hard, she's competitive and she's used to playing at a high level. She gives us another scorer, which fills a need for us. We're thrilled that we could add her to our roster."
Dursus has extensive experience in France.
From Strasbourg, she has been a member of the French Youth National Team since 2021. She has a gold medal from the 2024 FIBA U20 EuroBasket competition, silver from the 2023 FIBA U18 Women's European Championship, and bronze from the 2022 FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup and U18 European Championship.
Dursus, 20, also announced her pending arrival in Storrs, Conn., on social media.
Her numbers
In the 2025 U20 Women’s EuroBasket competition, she averaged 13.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists.
Dursus also has played professionally in France since 2022. This season, playing for Angers of the La Boulangère Wonderligue, she had averages of 9.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists. She shot 41.2% from long distance and 52.9% overall.
Her presence will add to the international flair of the women’s basketball team at UConn.
For the women’s team, Bianca Quinonez is from Ecuador, Jana El Alfy from Egypt and Gandy Malou-Mamel from Ireland.
Dursus will become the second player from France to play for UConn. Lou Lopez Sénéchal (2022-23) was the first.
Other 2026 class members
The other two incoming freshmen -- Olivia Vukosa and Jovana Popovic -- have international connections.
Vukosa was named the Gatorade Girls Basketball Player of the Year for New York earlier this year, and in March, she added the Gatorade National Girls Basketball Player of the Year award to her collection.
Despite living in New York, Vukosa has tapped into her family’s heritage to play for the Croatian national team, giving her significant international experience over the past three years. In August, she was part of Croatia’s roster at the FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket Championships, B Division, and averaged 15.6 points over seven games. She shot 42.1% from the field and 96.2% from the foul line.
Last November, Jovana Popovic, a 5-foot-8 guard from Serbia, signed with UConn in November as part of its Class of 2026.
She will be the first Serbian to play for UConn.
"Jovana is a high-level guard with a lot of experience," Auriemma said when he announced her signing. "She can handle the ball, she's a playmaker, she can score. Jovana is a really nice kid who will fit in great with our team."
