The No. 1 pick in the WNBA Draft this past year, Fudd will return to Storrs on Nov. 8.
Because of a knee injury, UConn Huskies alum Azzi Fudd didn't get to finish her WNBA rookie season with the Dallas Wings the way she wanted.
But there's no denying that Fudd will get a great conclusion to her UConn history on Nov. 8 when she's inducted into the Huskies of Honor.
The Huskies of Honor has been around for 20 years, and while it's not the same as having your uniform number retired, it is an incredible honor that pays homage to those who helped make UConn basketball what it is.
Some of the best names in program history like Sue Bird, Diana Taurasi, and Paige Bueckers are in the Huskies of Honor.
About Fudd in college
A native of Arlington, Va., Fudd spent five seasons in a Huskies uniform, including an injury-shortened 2023-24.
In those five years, she played 115 games, earning 98 starts. An excellent 3-point shooter, she led the Big East in 3-point percentage in each of her final two seasons, shooting 42.2 percent for her career. She averaged 14.7 ppg in total, and poured in 17.3 as a senior.
She was a first-time All-American in 2025-26 as the Huskies went 38-1 in total, losing only to South Carolina in the Final Four. She was a two-time All-Big East selection.
She helped the Huskies win the national title in 2024-25, alongside Bueckers, and the two are now teammates in the WNBA.
Fudd was the No. 1 pick in the WNBA Draft last April. She is the seventh former UConn player to be the No. 1 pick, joining Bird, Taurasi, Bueckers, Tina Charles, Breanna Stewart and Maya Moore.

Before her knee injury, Fudd appeared in 30 games, helping lay the foundation for a Wings team that got to the playoffs this season. She averaged 13.1 ppg and shot 39.7 percent from 3-point range. She also shot 82.6 percent from the foul line, continuing the sharp shooting she showed in a Huskies uniform.
About the Nov. 8 matchup
That will be one of the most anticipated matchups of the season as the Huskies take on Iowa at Gampel Pavilion. Iowa, made famous by Caitlin Clark's career a few years ago, is one of the best programs in the nation.
That game will begin at 2 p.m. ET. It will mark the third game of the season for the Huskies, who open up on Nov. 2 against Cornell and then play Michigan on Nov. 5.
