It was moving-in weekend in Storrs for at least five of the eight additions to the Huskies men's roster for the 2026-27 season.

In a scene that will be repeated thousands of times at colleges and universities across the country over the next few months, some new students moved into off-campus housing in Storrs, Conn., this weekend.

They came with proud family members, carried large Rubbermaid bins and bulging suitcases full of stuff into the building, and excitedly opened apartment doors to get a first look at where they’ll kick off their shoes (probably some very big ones) for the next academic year.

Five of the eight additions to the 2026-27 UConn men’s basketball team were recorded by the program’s social media posts as being new residents of Storrs over the weekend. Duke transfer Nik Khamenia checked in Monday morning, but Northern Arizona transfer Isaiah Shaw has yet to be shown among the carousel of videos.

Still to arrive is Colben Landrew, who is representing the United States as one of 12 members of the 2026 FIBA U18 Men's AmeriCup team that will compete, beginning Monday and through Saturday, in Leon, Mexico.

With their stuff dropped off in their apartments, the five players ventured to campus to see the locker room and take a few shots in the gym, the championship banners lining the wall high above their heads. Their lockers already were stocked with a box of Nike shoes and some UConn gear.

And with their new swag, they will be dressed and ready to go when UConn opens the gym for voluntary summer practices in the coming week.
