Multiple USC Freshman Receive All-American Honors at Mid Season

The USC Trojans continue to rack up awards as defensive end Luke Wafle and tight end Mark Bowman are named Mid-Season Freshman All-Americans by: On3, Rivals, the Athletic and 24/7.

Trent Mosley has been named an All-American by the Athletic as an all purpose player.

Wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt was named as a Freshman All-American honorable mention by 24/7.

Dixon-Wyatt leads the team with 27 receptions. All four players were part of USC’s prized 2026 No.1 recruiting class.

For the Trojans this has been an October full of honors. Head coach Lincoln Riley has been named to the Dodd Trophy watchlist.

Jide Abasiri has been named to the Lott IMPACT watchlist. Jayden Maiava has been named to the Johnny Unitas watchlist. The offensive line has been named to the Joe Moore Honor Roll.

Wafle was the number one player in the country in 2026. He’s started every game this season as a true freshman.

He was named Big Ten Freshman of the week for his performance against the Washington Huskies. Wafle’s fourth quarter sack helped seal the win for USC.

Bowman has missed the last three games due to a lower body injury. The true freshman has started every game he’s been healthy enough to play.

He was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week for his 6 catches and two touchdowns against Louisiana.

Mosley is the best player on the team. The former California State Player of the Year played his high school football at Santa Margarita, for USC great Carson Palmer.

Mosley is currently the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for his nine catch performance against the Penn State Nittany Lions.

USC seems to have bounced back from their loss to the Oregon Ducks. After starting the season 4-0, many in the national media questioned Riley after the loss.

Riley’s team responded with wins against Washington and Penn State. More importantly the defense made crucial stops showing growth on that side of the ball.

Riley’s team is coming together at the right time. The Mid Season Honors show that Riley's best players are not just playing well, but playing well on a consistent basis.

USC will travel to Madison Wisconsin to play the Wisconsin Badgers at Camp Randall. Wisconsin is coming off of a loss in the Rose Bowl to the UCLA Bruins.

Badgers quarterback Colton Joseph leads his team in both passing and rushing. The dual threat quarterback is completing 54.7% of his passes with 10 touchdown passes.

On the ground he averages 4.8 yards per carry with four scores on the ground.

USC and its quartet of freshman All-Americans will kickoff Saturday at 4:30 p.m. PT.
