After a prolific 2,000-yard season, the Ridgeline star weighs a major Utes offer against his Aggies commitment following an electric game-day visit to Salt Lake City.
The Utah Utes has extended an offer to 2027 Ridgeline running back Noah Fiefia following his visit to Salt Lake City for the Utes’ win over Houston.
Fiefia has been one of the most productive running backs in Utah this season, rushing for 2,151 yards and 36 touchdowns through 10 games. He’s also added 299 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound running back was impressed with what he saw from Utah during his visit.
“Game day visit was awesome, absolutely loved it! What impressed me the most is how family oriented they are and the energy they all have,” Fiefia told me.
One of the biggest moments of the visit came during a conversation with Utah running backs coach Mark Atuaia, who informed Fiefia that he had earned an offer from the Utes.
“Going into it I knew there was a chance I could get offered but I didn’t want to get my hopes up,” Fiefia said. “But I was really excited, it’s a big program.”
Fiefia said Atuaia pointed to his production this season and his plans to serve a mission as part of their conversation.
Despite his individual success, Fiefia was quick to credit his teammates and coaches.
“My biggest success is to my team, o-line, coaches, and parents. Without them I would be nobody,” Fiefia said. “Without those 10 other guys helping me out my season wouldn’t look like this.”
Fiefia has been committed to Utah State since June, but the new offer from Utah gives him another option to consider in his recruitment.
“It affects my recruitment by just opening another potential opportunity for me,” Fiefia said. “Whether or not I decide to take that opportunity will be answered through hard prayer and thought.”
With Fiefia planning to serve a mission before beginning his college career, Utah has now entered the picture for one of the state’s most productive running backs.
As the Utes start diving deeper into the end of the regular season as one of the final undefeated teams, the attention from recruits will follow. Morgan Scalley and his staff will pull in fringe prospects due to the success in the first season at the helm.
No. 6 Utah has a few key games coming up, including next week's 'Holy War' matchup with No. 8 BYU. This is shaping up to be the first time in the storied rivalry that both teams are within the top 10.
