Three-star safety Diesel Dart recently toured campus, weighing the chance to stay home and bolster the Utes' defense after his brother Jaxson took the out-of-state route.

The Utah Utes are trying to snag an in-state product early. Diesel Dart went on an official visit to campus this weekend. The brother of New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart is one of the top defenders in the Beehive State and seemed to enjoy his time near home.

The three-star athlete from Corner Canyon was among the visitors this weekend, and is in the midst of weighing his options. Jaxson left the state despite the possibility of putting one of the Utah schools on the map before his eventual NFL career. What Lane Kiffin's staff did with him was outstanding to see. But Diesel has more of an opportunity to stay home.

At 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds, Dart is a two-way player for one of the state's best high school programs. He's shown great skills on both sides of the ball, and is a more defensive-minded talent. At the safety position, he has shown the ability to lower his shoulder and make contact. Being able to see the entire field is one of his best qualities. While he eats up receivers in zone coverage, he's just as good in a man battle.

Corner Canyon went 12-1 and captured a Utah 6A championship with Dart racking up 48 tackles, 5 PBU, 2 INT, 1 FR and 1 FF in 12 games on defense, according to MaxPreps. He also hauled in seven catches for 131 yards and a touchdown on offense.

Outside of football, Dart has also been noted as a dual-sport athlete with basketball on his list. Utah hasn't been shy about players who excel both on the field and the hardwood. Caleb Lohner is the most prominent recent example of a double-dipper. The BYU transfer joined the Utes as a tight end for the 2024 season and was subsequently selected by the Denver Broncos in the 7th round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

As of now, Dart has 10 offers, including BYU, Michigan, Ole Miss, Arizona and Auburn. This could come down to a Holy War rivalry with some outside influence from Kyle Whittingham and Jay Hill. Utah is firmly in the mix with BYU's Aaron Roderick as his primary recruiter in Provo. Michigan is in the Mix because of Hill and his ties to the region. Roderick also made a serious run at Diesel's brother before committing to USC and transferring to Ole Miss.

No timeframe has been set for Dart's decision.
