Jordan Reffett will represent his alma mater for the Huskies' in-state game against Washington State
Washington and Washington State are set to play the 117th edition of the Apple Cup at 4:30 p.m. PT Saturday at Martin Stadium in Pullman, Wash.
The two in-state rivals are 2-2 against each other in the last four editions of the annual showdown. The Huskies won in 2022-23 and the Cougars won in '21 and '24. Washington will enter the game 2-0 coming off a bye, and Washington State will enter 2-1 coming off a 59-10 loss against North Texas.
Representing the Huskies as the honorary captain for the 2025 Apple Cup will be former defensive lineman Jordan Reffett.
Reffett announced the honor for Saturday's contest in a post on his official "X" account (@JordanReffett) on Friday.
"I am beyond freaking JACKED to walk out as the Honorary Captain at the Apple Cup Saturday....... LFG"
Reffett, a Moses Lake, Wash., native, played for Washington for five seasons from 2003-07. He redshirted in '03. He played both on the offensive and defensive lines his redshirt freshman season in '04.
Reffett won the team's Guy Flaherty award twice from '06-07. The award is the oldest in the program and is given annually to the most inspirational player on the Huskies roster. The recipient of the honor is voted on by the players on the team.
Reffett finished his career with Washington with 61 total tackles in 30 games, including 13 tackles for loss, had six sacks, four passes defended and forced one fumble.
Reffett signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent after college and spent several seasons there before retiring from football.
The Huskies were 2-3 against the Cougars in the Apple Cup during Reffett's time with the franchise.
Current Washington coach Jedd Fisch established having weekly honorary captains when he was hired in the 2024 season. Other honorary captains this season included former Huskies linebacker Zion Tupuola-Fetui in Week 1 against Colorado State, and former Washington and Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon for Week 2 against UC Davis.
