The Huskies got back to their winning ways against the Hoosiers

The No. 23 Washington Huskies women's basketball team got back to its winning ways and downed the Indiana Hoosiers 82-63 at Bloomington Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Ind.

The Huskies improved their record to 13-4 this season with the victory, including a 3-3 mark in Big Ten action.

Washington and Indiana went back-and-forth through the first eight minutes of the game, with the Huskies owning a 15-13 advantage.

UW ended the first quarter on a 9-0 run to go into the second up 24-13.

Senior guard Elle Ladine had seven of her team-high 19 points in the first 10 minutes. She reached that mark on 8-for-11 shooting (3-for-3 from 3-point range) and added six rebounds, four assists, a block and a steal.

In the second quarter, the Hoosiers' deficit increased to 36-19 with four minutes, 37 seconds left in the first half.

Indiana, still down 17 with 2:40 left in the second quarter, went on a 7-0 run to go into halftime down by 10.

During the third, the Hoosiers got within single-digits of Washington several times but was unable to make one more push.

The Huskies outscored Indiana 6-2 in the final 4:02 of the third. Senior center Yulia Grabovskaia and freshman forward Brynn McGaughy accounted for the six points.

Grabovskaia had arguably her best game in a Washington uniform against Indiana.

The 6-foot-5 center finished the game with 16 points on an efficient 8-for-11 mark from the floor. She added five boards and a block.

McGaughy, the five-star freshman, put up 13 points on a 6-for-9 clip (1-for-1 from beyond the arc). She also brought in four rebounds, dished one assist and blocked a shot.

In the fourth quarter, the Huskies truly put away the game for a good with an 8-0 run to begin the final frame.

After a bucket from Indiana interrupted the run, junior guard Sayvia Sellers and Sayvia Sellers both scored to bolster Washington's advantage to 73-49 with 6:39 left in the game.

Sellers hit another shot two minutes later to become the fourth Husky to reach double-figures against the Hoosiers. She finished with 11 points on 5-for-10 shooting and added four boards, four assists and a steal.

Sellers, in the same month she reached 1,000 career points, also hit 250 career assists.

Indiana ended the game on a 12-2 run, but Washington's 8-0 run to start the quarter put the game too far out of reach for the home team.

The Huskies will return home for their next game. They will play Minnesota at 3 p.m. PT on Jan. 18 at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle.
