ESPN Analyst Highlights Former Washington, Aspiring Pro Wide Receiver cover image

Mina Kimes recently highlighted Denzel Boston in a social media post

The Washington Huskies football team will have several notable players from last season who will look to continue their respective careers in the professional ranks.

The Huskies had five players invited to the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, which is set to take place from Feb. 23-March 2 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

One of those players is junior wide receiver Denzel Boston.

The South Hill, Wash., native has received hype as a potential first-round draft pick and one of the five best players available at his position in the draft. And he was recently recognized by a notable ESPN analyst on social media.

Mina Kimes made a post on "X" highlight Boston, saying the following:

"Washington WR Denzel Boston. High end size + play strength, catch radius, body control. Instant red zone weapon (11 TDs in ‘25)."

Boston was the go-to target for Washington quarterback Demond Williams Jr. last season.

Williams completed 62 passes thrown to Boston for 881 yards (14.2 yards per catch) and 11 touchdowns. Boston's 11 touchdowns tied for ninth in the nation this past season.

Boston redshirted his freshman season and sat behind notable wide receivers such as Ja'Lynn Polk and Rome Odunze his redshirt freshman season in 2023, which saw the program make it to the national championship game of the College Football Playoff.

Boston opted to stay with the Huskies after head coach Jedd Fisch was hired to replace previous head coach Kalen DeBoer. The 6-foot-4, 209 pass-catcher got his first real opportunity to make an impact under Fisch.

In the last two seasons, both under Fisch, Boston pulled in a total of 125 catches for 1,715 yards (13.7 yards per catch) and a total of 20 touchdowns. He totaled seven catches for 66 yards and no touchdowns before Fisch was hired.

Boston has been mocked to a variety of wide receiver-needy teams in the 2026 draft, including, but not limited to, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Buffalo Bills.

There's also been some speculation that, depending on how the draft plays out, Boston could remain in the Pacific Northwest and be selected with the 32nd overall pick by the defending Super Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks.

If Boston does end up being picked in the first round, he would be the third wide receiver to be selected in the first two rounds of the NFL Draft since 2024 and the second in the first round in that time frame.

Odunze was picked in the first round by the Chicago Bears in '24 and Polk was selected in the second round of the '24 draft by the New England Patriots.
