Hannes Steinbach, who will be looking to secure his spot as a potential lottery pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, took his official measurements at the combine
The Washington Huskies men's basketball team will likely have one more representative in the NBA by the time the 2026-27 season begins.
The 2026 NBA Draft Combine is currently underway and will continue through May 17 at the Wintrust Arena and Marriott Marquis in Chicago.
Former Washington freshman forward Hannes Steinbach is one of the 70-plus players who received an invite to the combine.
Steinbach received his official measurements Monday.
According to the Combine's measurements, Steinbach, without shoes, checked in at just above 6-foot-10 (6-foot-10 1/4), weighed 248 pounds, had a wingspan of 7-foot-2 1/4 and had a standing reach of nine feet.
With basketball sneakers, that would likely raise his game height to 6-foot-11.
Steinbach played one season for the Huskies this past season after being recruited out of Wurzburg, Germany.
In his only season with Washington, Steinbach led the team in points and rebounds despite missing three games due to an ankle sprain.
In 30 games (all starts), Steinbach averaged 18.5 points on 57.7% shooting from the floor. He also averaged 11.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.1 steals per game. His rebounds per game mark led the nation.
Steinbach finished second in a single season in program history and tied for first in the nation with 22 double-doubles this season. The other player he was tied with was Duke forward Cameron Boozer, who's expected to be one of the first three players picked in the '26 draft and will also participate in the draft combine.
There's been speculation on where Steinbach could be picked in the '26 draft. A recent mock draft from ESPN's Jeremy Woo had Steinbach being selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder with the 17th overall pick.
This is one pick below where Woo had Steinbach being picked in his previous draft. He previously had Steinbach going 16th overall to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Woo had the following scouting assessment on Steinbach in his mock draft:
Steinbach's dependable production and excellent rebounding stand out in a draft that's lighter on bigs, with many teams viewing him as a safe option. While not a flashy player, he's advanced enough offensively to plug into a rotation next season. There are varying opinions on how his defense and shooting (34% from 3) project long-term, and scouts view him as caught between the 4 and 5 positionally due to his size.
The 2026 NBA Draft takes place from June 23-24 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn in New York City. The Draft will air on ESPN.
