The Seattle Seahawks are coming off a dominant 44-13 win against the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 21.
The Seahawks were able to score nearly at will against the Saints. The offense scored four touchdowns, and rookie wide receiver Tory Horton returned a punt 95 yards for a touchdown.
Three running backs, Kenneth Walker III, George Holani and Jacardia Wright all received carries in the win. Zach Charbonnet was out for the win.
Seattle will have a short week and will play NFC West rivals, the Arizona Cardinals, at 5:15 p.m. PT on Thursday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. And the Seahawks could be looking to add to the running back room ahead of the midweek contest.
According to a post on "X" from Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle, the Seahawks hosted three running backs for tryouts this week: Brandon Bolden, Khalil Herbert and Myles Gaskin.
If Gaskin is signed by Seattle, it would represent a return to the Pacific Northwest for the veteran running back.
Gaskin is a Washington native. He was born in Lynnwood, Wash., and went to O'Dea High School in Seattle. He played his college ball with the Washington Huskies from 2015-18, where he earned the starting running back role as a true freshman. He was named First-Team All-Pac-12 in 2016 and Second-Team All-Pac-12 from '17-18.
Gaskin was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He played with the Dolphins from 2019-22 and split time with the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings in '23. He spent time with the Vikings practice squad and active roster in '24, but didn't register a carry. He also spent time on the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad in '24.
Gaskin's two best seasons in the NFL came in 2020-21. In '20, Gaskin rushed for 584 yards and three touchdowns on 142 carries and caught 41 passes for 388 yards and two touchdowns. In '21, the former Husky toted the ball 173 times for 612 yards and three touchdowns and had 49 receptions for 234 yards and four touchdowns.
For Gaskin's career, he's rushed 361 times for 1,355 yards and seven touchdowns and has caught 101 passes for 701 yards and six touchdowns.
It's unclear if Gaskin would receive playing time if he was signed by the Seahawks. The team has three running backs on the 53-man roster: Walker, Charbonnet and Holani, and two fullbacks: Robbie Ouzts and Brady Russell.
