The Washington Huskies athletic program has been attempting to carve out a role all of its own since leaving the old Pac-12 to join the Big Ten. And that includes their athletic apparel partner.
The NFL has an apparel partnership with Nike but players are free to have glove, cleat and other apparel deals outside NFL uniforms with other companies.
And two former Washington players will continue their affiliation with Adidas going into their respective professional careers.
Former Huskies running back Jonah Coleman and wide receiver Denzel Boston were both announced as two of the most recent signings by the sportswear giant Monday.
Other players included in Adidas' latest signing class were wide receiver Jordyn Tyson, linebacker Arvell Reese, quarterback Fernando Mendoza, safety Caleb Downs, wide receiver KC Concepcion, defensive end Rueben Bain Jr. and wide receiver Carnell Tate.
Tyson (Arizona State), Mendoza (Indiana) and Bain (Miami) are three players who also played their college ball at Adidas-affiliated schools.
Boston was Washington's leading receiver last season. The 6-foot-4, 209-pounder caught 62 passes for 881 yards (14.2 yards per catch) and 11 touchdowns.
Boston has garnered first-round draft hype by several different analysts and publications.
Coleman led the Huskies in rushing last year. He carried the ball 156 times for 758 yards (4.9 yards per carry) and 15 touchdowns. He missed one game and started 11 out of 13 due to injuries down the final stretch of last season.
Coleman has been graded as the second-to-fourth best running back available in the draft according to several different analysts.
The two Washington players also comprised two of the program's five participants in the 2026 NFL Combine. The other three participants were offensive lineman Carver Willis and cornerbacks Ephesians Prysock and Tacario Davis.
Boston and Coleman also participated in the team's pro day.
The 2026 NFL Draft is set to take place from April 23-25 in Pittsburgh. Coleman and Boston are expected to be just two of several Huskies players to have their names called during those three days.
The Adidas connection will likely be on full display for fans of the teams who draft Coleman and Boston, respectively, as both players have starting potential at the NFL level.
