Quarterback Kai Horton and kicker Grady Gross will be looking to make an impression with the Seattle Seahawks and the Kansas City Chiefs

The Washington Huskies football team had a decent amount of players hear their name called during the 2026 NFL Draft, which took place from April 23-25 in Pittsburgh. The Huskies also had an additional two players signed to undrafted free agent contracts.

Washington had seven players hear their name called over the weekend: wide receiver Denzel Boston (Cleveland Browns, second round); cornerback Tacario Davis (Cincinnati Bengals, third round); running back Jonah Coleman (Denver Broncos, fourth round); offensive lineman Carver Willis (San Francisco 49ers, fourth round); cornerback Ephesians Prysock (49ers, fourth round); defensive tackle Anterio Thompson (Atlanta Falcons, sixth round) and defensive end Zach Durfee (Jacksonville Jaguars, seventh round).

In addition to those two players, wide receiver Omari Evans signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent and tight end Quentin Moore signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Washington Commanders.

In addition to those nine players, two additional Husky alums will have an opportunity to make an impression on NFL teams.

Kicker Grady Gross was invited to rookie minicamp by the Chiefs and quarterback Kai Horton was invited to rookie minicamp by the Seattle Seahawks.

Gross was a four-year player at Washington from 2022-25. He originally handled place-kicking duties in his freshman season in '22 before also taking over primary field goal and PAT responsibilities his sophomore year in '23.

Gross made at least 10 field goals in each year his final three seasons on Montlake. He finished his career 46-for-61 in field goal attempts (75.4%) and was a perfect 152-for-152 in point-after tries.

Horton, a 6-foot-5, 215-pound QB, began his career with the Tulane Green Wave as a three-star recruit.

In four seasons with the Green Wave from '21-24, Horton played in 15 games and completed 52.8% of his passes for 866 yards, six touchdowns and five interceptions.

Horton transferred to the Huskies ahead of the 2025 season where he served as the primary backup to starting signal-caller Demond Williams Jr.

Horton saw action in four games last year with Washington. He completed 53.8% of his passes (7-for-13) for 98 yards.

Horton threw to wide receivers. tight ends and Coleman, which included Moore, Boston and Evans, during the Huskies' pro day on March 15.

Washington has seen an increase in players going pro over the last three years and it looks like the Dawgs will see an increase in that number this year and Gross and Horton could add to that tally.
