The Washington Huskies football team has remained active in the transfer portal since it opened Jan. 2 and there's been numerous additions for the team in the week-and-a-half since.
In the same breath, the Huskies have also lost out on potential targets in the portal, including a former four-star wide receiver.
Freshman receiver Quincy Porter, who entered the portal from Ohio State, opted to join the Notre Dame Fighting Irish over Washington.
Porter, a former five-star recruit, was ranked as the No. 4 wide receiver and 31st-best player in the country in the class of 2025, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Porter had four catchers for 59 yards in his freshman season.
Washington has a lot of bodies in its wide receiver room but has been reported to be looking for another option in the portal, likely to replace the production from junior wide receiver Denzel Boston.
Boston was the team's leading receiver this past season (62 receptions, 881 yards, 12 touchdowns) but will enter the 2026 NFL Draft. He's projected to be a first-round pick. The Huskies also lost receivers Raiden Vines-Bright, Audric Harris and Marcus Harris via the transfer portal.
Currently, it seems like No. 1 receiver responsibilities in 2026 will go to freshman Dezmen Roebuck.
Roebuck was UW's second-leading receiver this past season. He reeled in 42 passes for 560 yards and seven touchdowns.
MORE HUSKIES STORIES:
On the same day Washington lost out on Porter, it added another body to its defensive line group. And that player was a teammate of Porter's.
The Huskies added edge rusher Logan George, a junior defensive lineman, via the portal.
George, who transferred to the Buckeyes last offseason from Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) school Idaho State, registered only two tackles this past season. He had one tackle in a game against Ohio on Sept. 13 and another against Minnesota on Oct. 4. He played 19 total snaps due to injury.
Defensive line has been the biggest position of addition for Washington during the transfer portal.
The Huskies have added Ball State defensive lineman Darin Conley, Sacramento State d-lineman DeSean Watts and Mississppi State defensive lineman Kai McLendon.
Washington also added Sam Houston offensive lineman Kolt Dieterich.
With Porter off the board, and the Huskies losing top two running backs Jonah Coleman (NFL Draft) and Adam Mohammed (Cal), finding a potential No. 1 in both the receiver and running back rooms remains the program's main focus.
The transfer portal closes Jan. 16.
