The Huskies earned a commitment from tight end Zach Albright and defensive lineman Tevita Nonu was predicted to head to the Pacific Northwest
The Washington Huskies football team is several days away from concluding its spring football schedule with the "Dawgs After Dark" spring game at 6:30 p.m. PT on Friday at Husky Stadium in Seattle.
While the team is looking to close out its spring on a solid note, the program is also looking to add to what's on-pace to be the best recruiting class in program history.
Washington recently earned a commitment from an intriguing three-star recruit and was predicted to land a four-star defensive lineman over the last two days.
Here's an overview of the recent news on the recruiting trail for the football program:
Zach Albright, TE, three-star
The Huskies earned a commitment from Albright, who's ranked as the 500th-best player, 30th-best tight end in the country and sixth-best player in Washington in the Class of 2027, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Albright chose UW over offers from other notable programs such as Michigan, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, Cal and Utah, among others.
The 6-foot-5, 235-pound tight end attends Glacier Peak High School in Snohomish, Wash., just over 25 miles away from Husky Stadium.
Albright is the third in-state recruit for Washington. The Huskies have landed three of the top-seven prospects in the state in the '27 recruiting class.
Tevita Nonu, DL, four-star
Another one of the top in-state recruits, four-star defensive lineman Tevita Nonu, has been on Washington's radar for a significant amount of time.
The Huskies offered the O'Dea High School (Seattle) back on Dec. 7, 2024.
Reporter Adam Gorney for Rivals.com recently offered a prediction that Washington will land Nonu.
Currently, Rivals.com predicts a 90.8% chance the Huskies will earn a commitment from Nonu. The 6-foot-4, 270-pound defensive tackle's other finalists are UCLA and Arizona, respectively. UCLA has a 4% chance to land Nonu and Arizona has a 3.4% chance to earn a commitment from the O'Dea student.
Nonu, who was a participant in the 2026 Polynesian Bowl, is ranked as the 244th-best overall player, 26th-best defensive lineman and second-best player in Washington in the '27 class, per the 247Sports Compsite.
In addition to his three finalists, Nonu has also earned offers from Michigan, Oregon, Penn State, Notre Dame and Arizona State, among others.
