The Huskies are in the mix to add a blue chip prospect to their 2027 recruiting class

The Washington Huskies football team had a lot of momentum going into its current recruiting cycle after a stout 2026 class.

The Huskies inked the 12th-ranked recruiting class in the country, according to 247Sports, which was the highest a UW recruiting class has been ranked in program history.

Several players from that class, including five-star offensive lineman Kodi Greene, four-star wide receiver Jordan Clay and four-star running back Brian Bonner are expected to contribute in their true freshmen seasons this upcoming season.

It's still early in the class of '27 recruiting cycle but so far, it seems Washington is well on its way to pull off a similar recruiting class to '26 and was recently named as one of the final teams being considered by a blue chip prospect.

Four-star defensive lineman Zane Rowe is set to announce his college commitment March 13, according to a report from Rivals and On3 reporters Hayes Fawcett and Sam Spiegelman.

According to the report, the Huskies, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Oregon are the four final teams being considered by Rowe.

Rowe, an edge who's listed at 6-foot-4, 255 pounds, is ranked as the 93rd-best overall prospect in the class of '27, the 12th-best edge in the country and the 11th-best player in Texas, according to 247Sports. He was a participant in the 2026 Under Armour All-America game.

Beyond just the pedigree in landing a top 100 player, earning a commitment from Rowe could represent one of several potential recruiting wins for Washington over its Pacific Northwest rivals, Oregon.

The Huskies and Ducks are also reported finalists for four-star quarterback Sione Kaho and four-star cornerback Josiah Molden.

Kaho is a Washington native and Molden, who had a brother play for Washington and father play for Oregon, is an Oregon native.

Landing multiple, or all three, of Molden, Kaho and Rowe would represent a clear advantage on the recruiting trail for the Dawgs over the Decks.

Currently, the Huskies have six commitments and their class is ranked 12th in the country. The 11 teams above Washington are, in order: Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Louisville, Nebraska, Syracuse, Georgia, Texas, Virginia and Texas Teach.

The six commitments Washington has earned thus far are: four-star wide receiver Zerek Sidney, three-star wide receiver Braylon Pope, three-star athlete Maurice Williams, three-star twin linebackers Ethan Coach and Justin Coach and three-star linebacker Titus Osterman.

Earning a commitment from Kaho, Molden or Rowe would give the Huskies multiple four-stars, which would undoubtedly increase its ranking.
