The Washington Huskies men's basketball team was able to land a 15th player for the upcoming season after it landed 6-foot-7 Bosnian guard Harun Zrno in the transfer portal from the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

The Huskies may have the maximum amount of players available for the 2026-27 season, but they've done it through a variety of creative ways.

This offseason, with six players set to return from last season, Washington landed five players in the transfer portal, three international recruits and one player from the Class of 2026.

The Huskies made attempts to land several of the top players in the Class of 2026, but landed just one player, three-star Lattimore Ford, from the class.

As a result, the team had to get creative with its roster construction. Wini Braga (Brazil), Tristan Devers (Australia) and Boris Tisma (Croatia) were all recruited from their native countries.

Including that trio, Zrno and returning forward Nikola Dzepina, Washington has five international players on the roster this season.

The Huskies are attempting to have more success in recruiting from high school graduates in the following years, and have already made pushes for several of the top players in the Class of 2027 and 2028, respectively. And Washington has already made a decent impression on a top 100 player in the Class of '27.

According to an update written by Rivals.com's Jamie Shaw, the Huskies are one of the final teams in the running to land four-star Class of '27 small forward Deng Ngor.

The five other teams mentioned in Shaw's article include the Florida Gators, Ohio State Buckeyes, Auburn Tigers, South Carolina Gamecocks and Marquette Golden eagles.

Ngor is ranked as the 79th-best overall player, 21st-best small forward and best player in Ontario, Canada, per the 247Sports composite. He currently attends Fort Erie International Academy in Fort Erie, Ontario.

The 6-foot-8, 195-pound wing helped lead Canada to an upset win over the U.S. in the FIBA U18 AmeriCup in June. He averaged 10.2 points, four rebounds and three assists per game in the tournament and scored 15 points in the championship game.

Despite Washington not having success this year in landing high school graduates, it has had general success in recruiting under head coach Danny Sprinkle. UW is attempting to get back to that standard in the upcoming seasons, which will likely prevent the Huskies from having to get as creative with the roster constructions in the future.
